Business Process Outsourcing Bpo

Outsourcing is subcontracting a process or piece or work, to a third-party company. A firms decision to outsource is based on several factors such as lowering operational costs, resources, feasibility of competencies and global market dynamics. Outsourcing and off shoring are used interchangeably. Outsourcing involves contracting with a supplier, whereas off shoring is the transfer of an organizational function to another country. With emerging times and market dynamics there is now a very thin line drawn between outsourcing and off shoring. Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) is a part of the outsourcing industry and is dependent on information technology. This is referred to as Information Technology Enabled Services or ITES. Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) and Legal Process Outsourcing (LPO) are some of the subsets of business process outsourcing to name a few. BPO is also an extension of the Service Industry. A Service Level Agreement (SLA) measures the quality of service and contractual agreements. However a more iron clad contract is drawn out to weed out any contractual loop holes. This is referred to as the Service Delivery SLA. An integral part of quality is CSAT scores. These are end user experiences measured through customer satisfaction questionnaires (CSAT). This function allows quality to be tracked over time and to tweak and fix any corrective action that has been identified and seek closure. BPO vendors offer their services on a fee-for-service basis. This is either on a Full Time Employee (FTE) or Pay For Performance (PFP) model. A healthy BPO unit will invest in the time and tested variable cost structure function as it does not require investing in assets thus making the unit flexible in its scalability. This revenue generation model is rapidly increasing as it allows for optimal utilization of funds and resources to run day to day businesses. In India, The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) mediates as a watch dog to the Indian software

A Look Into Business Process Re-engineering

Business process re-engineering (BPR) sounds esoteric at best, and maybe a little pretentious. Wouldnt it be simpler to say business process change? Most people understand what a business process is but when you combine it with re-engineering, it suddenly sounds vague. The ProSci-sponsored BPR Online Learning Center calls a business process a set of activities that transform a set of inputs into a set of outputs (goods or services) for another person or process using people and tools. It is simple. The way we interpret that is: <li>there are several ways of doing business,<li> <li>when one of those ways does not work or is considered to be ineffective it has to be improved,<li> <li>certain elements are introduced to make it better (inputs),<li> <li>those elements translate into a better product or service,<li& gt; <li>that product or service is supposed to serve another person (a customer, a supplier, a partner)<li> Thats basic enough, but why do business processes have to be re-engineered? Its All About the Customer (and Competition) The thought behind business process re-engineering is to delight the customer. By delighting him, we get to keep him, turning him into a faithful disciple. Rivals have a sneaky way of snatching customers away from us. Its not because this world is full of cunning and evil people, its because we tend to sit on our laurels and think that weve finally got it made. Weve become lax. Business process improvement, according to ProSci, is not be confused with business process re-engineering. Instead of improving on current processes, the re-engineering concept says that because the technique is no longer viable, it has to be replaced, abandoned. Theres a need to establis

Process Change Consider Iso 9000

In their haste to implement changes, a few companies fail to consider ISO 9000. They think that it is a technical standard to be reckoned with and that only certain industries must comply. But for the knowledgeable, the Switzerland-based International Standards Organization must occupy a distinguished place in company policy and strategy, especially when those strategies involve process changes. Highlights of ISO 9000

Use The Follow Up Process To Earn More Customers

A friend of mine recently went on a job interview. After many years in one industry he decided it was time for a change. He spent somewhere between six to eight months obtaining education in a new field that really excited him. Once his education was complete it was time to start hitting the pavement looking for a job. Days and even weeks went by but finally he found something that was really what he wanted do. Sure he had to start at an entry level position, which he knew going in, but in the long run the new career path would not only pay off financially, but as he said, you cant put a price tag on happiness.
