Cell Phone Can Be A Huge Help For College Students

As a college student, you know how valuable your cell phone is to keep in touch with family and friends, especially if you are in another town. What you may not know is that your cell phone has various other functions that can help you to enjoy your college experience. As a college student, you may ask your parents to send you money from time to time. Your parents can send you money through your text messaging system. The money is withdrawn from a PayPal account that your parents will need to set up. Once your parents send you the money, you can send the funds directly to someone else, such as your school bookstore for fees that are past due.

The Growing Problem Of Cell Phone Addiction

As the number of people that have cell phones is rapidly growing, so is the number of people that are becoming addicted to their phones. When these phones were invented, they were intended to make life easier. Today there are some people that do not have a life because they do not know when to turn them off. You probably know a person who is a cell phone addict. It could be the person who leaves his phone on in the hospital even if it is against the rules because he is afraid he will miss a call. Or the phone user who sends text messages all day from work when he should be doing his job. These same people will have an anxiety attack if they forgot their phones at home and cannot enjoy what they are doing until that phone is back in their hand.

Cell Phone Rates: Which Are The Best?

Cell phone rates are as varied as the companies that provide service. To compare rates, you first need to decide what features you want in your plan ranging from how many minutes you want per month to free text messaging. You should also take into consideration the area in which you live, as some service providers may not be able to connect with your region. Alltell is one of the most popular service providers and is available in most areas. The company now offers the My Circle program which allows you free unlimited calls to any network anywhere. One rate for an individual plan was 49.99 which included 750 anytime minutes with a .40 rate for additional minutes. There were unlimited night and weekend minutes and mobile-to-mobile minutes. My Circle with this plan included five people.

The World Is Influenced By Cell Phone Communications

Cellular Phones and Cellular Phone Technologies have advanced by leaps and bounds since their introduction on the market. I remember when the first large programmable phone, made by Motorola, was introduced and only societys elite and well off persons could afford them and use them in their lifestyle. I distinctly remember my father having one because he was a pilot, who flew people around and had to be ready at a moments notice because at any time he could get the call to get the plane ready and charter his clients from point to point. Sometimes he would use it while I was with him and people would stare at him like he was a celebrity, and it truly was entertaining to see people gawking at him, simply because he had a mobile phone. Now, times have dramatically changed. It seems that nearly everybody has a cell phone on their person at all times, these days. Even children under the age of 10 can be seen with a cell phone texting and talking to their friends and family. Cell phones and mobile communications have transitioned our lives and the technological diffusion has helped to create an even faster pace world of tending to business on-the-fly. The world has fast-forwarded from the programmable and bulky bag cellular phone days, when in the early to mid-nineties, beepers were popular because if someone needed to get in touch with you, you could get the message on the beeper and return the call either on a landline or a cellular phone. This was convenient because for me, I could use a landline and not run up expensive cellular phone service bills.

Are Cell Phones Driving The Economies Of Developing Countries?

Cell phones are an important contributor to the world economy, as well as developing countries. Prior to technological advances like cell phones, and other wireless communication devices and technologies, the rate at which countries develop were much slower than now. Infrastructure is a fortifying element to developing countries as they progress construction of transportation means, improve communications modes, and other infrastructure. It is difficult to say which is the most important factor in the development of economies in developing countries, but cell phones play a vital role. Cell phone service, retail outlets, manufacturers, distributors, and users all stimulate the economy in monetarily. Think about all of the cell phone users. Each cell phone user pays a subscription fee, monthly usage fees, and purchases cell phones and cell phone accessories. Add this up over five years and the amount of money dedicated to cell phones is astronomical. Hence, service providers, retail outlets, manufacturers and distributors, collectively, employ thousands upon thousands of people, yielding a substantial boost to any economy especially a developing economy. Cell phones help employees of companies, governments, and organizations to communicate quickly and cost efficiently. Not only does this convenient technology help these entities to do their jobs more effectively, but also help them perform better, financially.

The Ubiquitous Cell Phone

In todays world, the number of people using cellular phones (telefone celular) run into millions; and it is no wonder, since it is such a wonderful gadget - with a cellular phone, you can easily talk to anyone on this planet, from just about anywhere! In earlier times, people would install radio telephones in their cars if they needed mobile communications badly. In this system, there would be a single central antenna tower in each city, and about 25 channels would be available. So not many people could use radio telephones, as the number of channels available were so few.

Best Cell Phone Ring Tones

Forget the days of hearing that generic cell phone ring that made you anxiously reach into your purse and fumble for your phone. In todays age of individualization, no one has reason to suffer through homogenous rings with the abundant supply of websites and providers that offer ringtones that can personalize your otherwise ordinary cell phone. Have a song that you love to listen to? Hop online and search for that specific tune and chances are youll find a ringtone to go with it. Then, customize the ringtone to play only the part you want to hear when friends call or, assign a specific ringtone to one particular person. The options are endless. There are only a few criteria to consider when choosing what website to download ringtones from. First, be sure that your cell phone is compatible with the ringtone youve chosen. Verizon users, for example, can be assured that any tune downloaded from Verizons website will work with their phone. If youre considering using any other website or service, be sure to check and see that your phone will be capable of receiving and playing your ringtone. Secondly, be sure that sound quality is acceptable. Most websites will allow you to preview a ringtone before making a purchase. Thirdly, make sure that you understand how and when you will be charged for your purchase. Most major service providers will add any ringtone purchases to your next months bill. Once you have these three bases covered, hop online and get ready to jazz up your cell phone!

Finding The Best Family Cell Phone Plan

Cell phones are not just for adults anymore With an estimated 16 million teens, pre-teens, and children owning a cell phone of their own, selecting a cell plan for mom, dad, and child can now be a veritable nightmare. The plan and coverage that was good for dad may not have been for mom or teen or vice versa. With near endless options and choices of air time, messages, and browser time, many families found themselves holding a different plan and provider for each person. Luckily, cellular providers saw a problem and offered a solution with the family package plans. These plans have met, and exceeded, the need for convenient and inexpensive plans. Family coverage plans are a good option for many families because most providers offer a plan that gives each family member a line with their own phone number. The members of the family plan are able to talk to each other (on the cell phones) for as long as they want without using their plans regular airtime, it also allows members of the same family to share phone minutes, text messages, and browser time. Making the headaches of overages and keeping track of individual minutes and text messages a thing of the past. If members of the family use less airtime or messages, those can be transferred, automatically by the plan, to other covered members. Family plans typically offer the convenience of a single bill and coverage application for service, instead of each member needing to apply individually and the children and teens probably needing a co-signer. Another benefit of selecting a family plan is the reduced cost of purchasing of the cell phones and accessories. Most cellular providers offer package dea

The Not So Free Cell Phone

We have all seen the advertisements the shout out FREE CELL PHONES! Well a famous economist once said that there is no such thing as a free lunch. Now I will tell you that there is no such thing as a free cell phone. Yes you heard right, cell phones are not really free. In fact, companies use the term free to persuade customers to sign long-term contracts for cell phone service. Is the phone really free if there is a catch? NO, you just end up paying for it over the term of the service contract that you are required to sign. Another reason that reduces the value of the free cell phone is the fact that many of the free cell phones are usually the older models that the service provider could not sell. You will notice this one you get the cell phone and find out that it is a less than desirable phone. Nevertheless once the contract is signed, you are stuck with the cell phone you received. If there is a need to purchase a replacement phone, it is usually going to cost.

Cell Phone Rebates Are Often An Illusion

So you are looking for a new cell phone. Everywhere you look you see advertisements for free cell phones. You have physical stores that have the free cell phones available for you to inspect and you also have the online stores that usually have a larger selection of free cell phones from which to choose. The catch is that the cell phones are really not free since you have to sign a two-year service contract but that is a different story. You usually have to actually pay for the phone up front and then mail-in a rebate form. So it really is the price of the phone that you pay up front mail-in rebate the free phone. But the rebate is not guaranteed. Once you mail in the rebate form you must hope that you are one of the lucky ones that actually receive the rebate check in the mail. I know you are probably asking: What do you mean be saying one of the lucky ones? Well the rebates are basically the enticement that creates the illusion that the cell phone is free. It is the rebates that influence the decision to buy many of the free cell phones. But there is usually a catch to the rebates. You will see that the rebates have their own set of fine print that you need to navigate through. As you read through that fine print, you will notice that you usually have to wait a specified period before you are eligible for the rebate. Once the waiting period is over you usually have a limited time in which to mail in the rebate form and the supporting documentation. This waiting period is a trick in which the companies hope you forget about mailing in the rebate and if you do remember the limited window is set in hopes that the window will have passed by time you remember the rebate.

Why And How To Buy A Cell Phone?

A cell phone (celular) or mobile phone is a portable, long-range, electronic gadget used for transportable communication. Apart from the standardized voice function of a cell phone (celular), the mobile phones that we have in market today support many additional features like SMS or short messaging service for sending and receiving text messages, sending or receiving email, storing contact information, make reminders or to-do lists, using the inbuilt calculator for performing simple arithmetic calculations, get all kinds of information about entertainment, sports, news or stock quotes through packet switching through the Internet, playing games, watching TV, sending or receiving MMS for photographs and videos and incorporate other devices like camera, MP3 player, GPS receiver etc. You can not do without it or loathe it but you just can ignore the humble cell phone that has made its way to almost every persons pockets. With the increase in use of cell phones (celular) the question about its health and environmental hazards has also risen. There has been a lot of debate regarding the issue whether cell phones are indeed responsible for cancer or any other type of health risk. There are some researches that firmly say that using cell phones can indeed cause brain damage. Linking the cell phone (celular) with causes of cancer has also been a favorite topic of argument. Though it remains a controversial topic till date but the fact is that there is no solid research that can prove that cell phone usage has any link to cancer. The only exception is the case of driving and talking simultaneously that can indeed caused lots of accidents.

Few Rules Of Cell Phone Decorum

The invention of cell phones (celular) may be equated at par with the invention of radio, telephone or the television. Its usage has grown to astronomical proportions. Almost every human being from a bubbling teenager to an old infirm individual keeps a cell phone (celular). Previously it was considered a status symbol, but now with prices hitting rock bottom, it has become a necessity with everyone, right from the daily wage laborer to the company president. Along with its wide spread use has also come its wide spread abuse. You can find people talking, nay, yelling on their cell phones (celular) at every nook and corner. The ease-of-use and its superb functionality have made people go into some sort of a virtual phantom private world, where they lose consciousness of their surroundings. They are so absorbed with the voice coming from their devices and their incessant loud reply to it that they forget they are social beings living in a civilized society, where other persons also have a right to silence. Cell phone users, almost every one of them, assume that the society has a high tolerance for their constant chatter and they care-a-dime even if you hear their private conversations, shocking revelations or intimate sweet nothings.

Gps Cell Phone Tracking Technology

New regulations concerning GPS cell phone tracking will make you more secure especially during emergencies. Under new FCC regulations (E911) all new cell phones must have a GPS chip installed during manufacturing. This allows the local 911 dispatcher to access your location during any emergency. This technology has already saved numerous lives. In addition it has help law enforcement agencies to track and arrest criminal suspects. In addition many manufactures have designed their phones to allow the user to use the phone for navigation. However GPS cell phone tracking technology is not without its critics. Many people feel the new GPS cell phone tracking technology is another intrusion into their privacy. FCC regulations generally prohibit anyone from accessing your cell phone information including your GPS tracking information. Even law enforcement agencies are required to have a judicial warrant to access your GPS cell phone tracking data. However, there are several new companies that have begun to provide Private GPS cell phone tracking information on any cell phone user. The legality of these services is a much debated issue. State laws often have in some cases restricted these services. Private investigators, bail bond agents and friend of the court personnel are the most common customers for this service. Obviously there is the possibility of misuse of this information by stalkers and other criminals. Some people have refused to upgrade their phones in order to keep their phone location information private.
