Fall Protection

I have always had a fear of heights. I am an acrophobiac. Even a picture or video of a high rise can bring chills on my spine. I have always wondered that how brave these people are who construct and do all the labor work in making these high rise buildings. And what about there safety, god forbid if an accident occurs what will happen. So I started to Google and came to know that there are specific safety standards that very construction work should maintain. These standards are called as fall protection. Fall protection is a safety measure to prevent falls, which usually occur in the construction work, but can occur in all types of occupations. Fall protection must be provided over dangerous equipment and machinery. Falls can be categorized into slips, falling from ladders, stairs or ramps, or from a moving vehicle. There may not be one reason behind a fall, but many. But we should always follow the safety measures to avoid such falls. The selection of a particular fall protection system to contro l the mishap depends upon the type of workplace and the job the worker has to perform. The workers alertness and the safety products and equipments, altogether can be life saving at the most treacherous places. The U.S. department of labor has Fall protection as a specific standard in the general industry. This standard popularly known as Occupational Safety and Hazard Administration (OSHA) highlights the rules and the national consensus standards related to fall protection. Various sections of OSHA describe how employees are free from the recognized imperilments. The most common hazards sometimes turn out to be the most perilous. There are number of ways by which the workers can be protected from falls including handrails, guardrails, safety line and belt, safety nets etc. The choice of protection system is the one which will omit the rarest chances of falling, completely. For example we can fix the barriers instead of choosing the personal fall protection equipments, to guard the workers. This way,

Pc Enclosures - Why Protection Is Needed For Standard Pcs

We all take computers for granted, however there are many issues and challenges to deal with, when you put standard computers on to factory floors, due to the amount of dust, fluid and abuse they get. Why should anyone protect a standard PC on the shop floor? The simple answer is that if dust makes contact with the hard drive, this will wipe valuable data off the hard drive, so if the computer is used for shop floor data collection, the days production figures could be eliminated for example. What affect would this have? Production would not know which job has been completed or started, so the production line would have to stop until a manual audit was done to establish the progress of customer orders. Lost production lost revenue! We all know what happens when fluid mixes with electrics, so we do not have to go into great depths with this, let us just say computers and printers do not like fluid. As for abuse, well we have all experienced the frustrated shop floor worker, who will do anything to slow the business down, if the production line is automated and controlled by computers, this could mean them unplugging the computer, or even worse - causing the computer to fail! Now how do you protect standard computers and printers from this sort of attack? You can either put the computers in offices, rather than on the factory floor or contact a company who specialise in the manufacture of protective computer and printer enclosures, such as Computer Security & Solutions. Computer Security & Solutions has over 12 years experience supplying solutions to Global manufacturers, to ensure their I.T. equipment is protected from abuse, fluid and dust. Many Global Manufacturers find PC enclosures much more cost effective and flexible than Industrial PCs, due to the lack of maintenance standard PCs in enclosures need. If an Industrial PC fails for either hardware or software issues, it takes a number of days before an engineer is able to get to site to rectify the problem. With a PC enclosure if a probl

How To Create A Data Protection Strategy

Whether you're dealing with your business or personal files, the loss of data can be tragic. Businesses that loose significant amounts of data are much more likely to fail within a short period of time, and losing personal data can mean that projects, plans, or possibly even family photos or other irreplaceable memorabilia are gone for good. Obviously no one wants to lose data from their computer or network, but what happens if the worst case scenario comes to pass and that data does get lost? This is where developing a strong data protection strategy comes into play. Instead of going about business as usual and hoping for the best, it's absolutely necessary to plan ahead for the possibility of losing important data. Below are suggestions on how you can go about protecting your data as well as ways that you can become proactive in preventing data loss in the first place. <b>Scheduling Backups<b><br> The core of a successful data protection stra tegy lies in making regular backups of your work and archiving them so that you can recover from any unexpected loss of data or a system crash. By backing up your files on a regular basis, you will have recent copies of everything that you need in the event of data corruption, virus infestation, hacker attacks, or anything else that might cause you to lose important data that you otherwise might not be able to replace. Make backing up important data a part of your regular routine; you might back up your system monthly, weekly, or even daily. The more frequently you make these backups, the more likely you're going to be to have recent copies of vital files in the event of data loss. Periodically test your backups as well, making sure that they aren't corrupted or otherwise damaged. <b>Virus and Malware Protection<b><br> One major cause of data loss is malicious software such as viruses and other forms of malware. Even the most careful computer u
