The New Advanced Technology Of Sony Dat160 Tape

The Sony introduced its new and advanced backup storage tape cartridge DAT160 on 1st April, 2008. The Sony DAT160 tape (DGDAT160) has native capacity of 80GB and compressed capacity of 160GB. The Sony DAT160 is dual layer cartridge, which has ultra thin coating technology. This DAT 160 tape has increased linear recording density. The Sony backup tape offers superior reliability and output. The noise level is also low, even in the high frequency band range. It has the capacity to perform repeated writeread operations. The new Sony tape is user friendly and is easy to navigate. Sony has developed the DAT160 backup tape, which is capable to protect the data from the impact of heat. The tape loading and unloading is also stable. Sony also conducted various tests simulating transportation and storage conditions at the stage of material selection and cartridge design so that the cartridges have sufficient strength against temperature variation. This backup tape provides stable tape-travel, which reduces damage to the tape during reading and writing operations. These backup tapes were tested by dropping them, and still the original data was fully recovered. The Sony backup tape has more impact resistance due to the addition of polycarbonate for the cartridge shells. The DAT160s resistance is 15 times more than the polystyrene, which is commonly used in the video cassettes. The tape is more rigid and robust because of the ultrasonic welding used in the assembly of the tape. Therefore, the data is safe even if the tape is damaged from drop impact. The Sony backup tape is robust to abrasion, due to metal leader pin which is used at the end of the magnetic tape. The DAT160 tape can perform more than 20,000 stable repeated cycles with the help of metal leader pin. The recording method that is used for recording in the DAT drive is called the helical scanning method. The overall process of recording in DAT drive and the video cassette recorder (VCR) is the same. The DAT tape drive uses 2 heads for the purpose of wri

Television - Understanding The Liquid Crystal Display Technology

The Televisions that use Liquid Crystal Display for an improved image quality are termed as the LCD Televisions. This is one of the latest inventions of technologies in TV and computer monitors. LCD televisions are easy on the eye and the intensity of strain to the eye balls is greatly reduced. Thus they make prolonged viewing much more comfortable and stress free. In common parlance it can be said that there is a liquid in the screen and we see the image on the liquid screen. Broadly, this modern technology uses thin film transistors to monitor voltages to the individualized pixels. Here the transistors constantly regulate voltage to three liquid crystal sub pixels of red, green and blue, which in turn control light dispersion through the wafer thin panel. But to be precise, LCD technology is based on the utilization of specified polarized light.

The Technology Behind Digital Cameras

Technology has revolutionized the concept of capturing live images. The earlier concept of producing permanent photograph was based on pure chemistry. In 1830, Louis Daguerre, devised the first practical way of producing permanent photographs. Today we are talking about the computerized photo imagery in the filmless picture taken by a device that is smart in electronic intelligence and in appearance - digital camera. A digital camera takes video, still photographs, or both digitally. It records images on a light sensitive sensor. Instead of using a film, an arrangement of charged-coupled devices-light sensitive semiconductors, which stores electrical charges,-does the job. These digital sensors-composed of pixels -transform the light from the scene snapped into an analog signal which is then converted into a digital version. One electronic filtering system regulates color and other picture components. Another system reduces the picture. The image is finally sent to a temporary storage area and ultimately onto a memory card. Many compact digital cameras can record sound, video and still photographs.

The Technology In A LCD Monitor

Liquid Crystal display or LCD monitor is a thin and flat device for display. It is made by large number of color or monochromatic pixels which are arrayed in way of a light source or a reflector. It uses very small amount of electric power and hence is used often in battery powered electronic devices. The technology used is very much dissimilar to CRT technology which is used by many desktop monitors. It was used only on notebook computers for a very long time. Only recently they have been offered as an alternative to CRT monitors. They take up very less desk space and are much lighter than the CRT monitors. But they are also quite expensive. Each pixel of LCD monitor display has a layer of aligned molecules between two electrodes which are transparent and two polarizing filters. Because there is no liquid crystal between the aligned polarizing filters, light which has passed through the first filter will be blocked by the second polarizer. The surface which is in contact with the crystal is treated to align it in particular direction. The direction of alignment is defined by direction of rubbing.

Information Technology | Certification Intelligence

Information technology news and technical information pertaining to certification intelligence for exam training is the main purpose of this article. Many people do not know the difference between computer training and certification exam training. I would like to inform everyone what the differences are. Computer training is classroom education with scheduled courses or online training about the career field pertaining to information technology. Let me explain! You may want to become a Server Administrator. To begin with you will need some education somewhere in order to be knowledgeable about the subject and maybe acquire a 2 or 4-year degree or receive some online training with a qualified instructor. You may just want to take a few courses and receive a certificate in this field. This would be considered computer training. Information technology certification intelligence on exam training is what you need in order to be fully prepared to pass your certification exam. After computer training you may have a degree or a certificate but you still do not have a certification that is recognized by Microsoft, CIW and CompTia or any other. If you have computer training that qualifies you to be a Server Administrator then you will want to get certified in Microsoft, CIW or CISCO. Certification exam training concentrates on preparing you to pass your certification exam. An IT Certification exam is unlike any other exam that you have had in college or school. There are two very important things to consider when preparing for a certification exam. They are the proper study technique and having relevant material that pertains to the actual exam that is up to date with the current market.

Starting Out The Technology Tutorials For Toddlers

An essential part in helping out the infants of today is providing the basic educational needs to help them in understanding various genres. The hardest people to teach today is perhaps the younger generation, since the start of their educational journey needs good roots to be able to connect the other parts of attaining and enriching their current knowledge. With the help of technology and advanced means of providing the necessary tools and objects in the form of toys and games, children have a better overview of understanding the basics of life and its possibilities. It is never an easy task to educate children, and pushing them to lean towards technology enhanced software like child learning software will still need good tutorials and foundations usually on the part of adults and peers. A child cannot immediately be expected to adapt to the first hand exposure towards such available learning software. While they may find such interfaces as amusing, the immediate intent of the modules in them cannot be understood until they have started with the basic terminologies which gradually increase as they go along. The same approach is what usual learning software caters to. Starting from simple to advanced so that they degree of learning is met at the right levels.

Web Based Training And Internet Enabled Technology

Just a few years ago, web-based learning through PCs was seen as revolutionary. Companies could put their orientations and ongoing trainings on line and all employees would get standardized learning. Soon, with the spread of wifi, router-based, and satellite wireless networks, people could tap into this type of training while on the run. A salesperson could get trained in the latest marketing presentation while riding on a plane to her or his next destination. Or a person could get oriented to their new job from home before the first day they work. Now, web-based trainings have taken another step forward due to the technology involved in internet-enabling devices besides computers. There are some obvious examples of how this might work. For example, your TV may be connected to the internet in a way that allows you to tune in to a training or conference as easy as changing to a specific channel. You could use your DVR and truly get the most out of the conference.

Light Emitting Diode: Where Did This Technology Come From?

Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) were an accidental discovery at first. At the beginning of the 20th century, it was discovered that when electricity was applied to the semiconductor Silicon Carbide (SiC) it produced a light. This light was too dim to be of any use so the research was never distributed. This could have been the end for the LED, but it wasnt content to die out. Nearly 20 years later Russian and German scientists revisited the idea of light produced this way. The light was still of such poor luminance that the idea nearly died again. A report published in 1936, which helped to invent the term electroluminescence, revived the research for light from this source. The science of electroluminescence languished in obscurity for a while. It began to gain favor again in the 1950s when some British scientists started experimenting with it again. This led to the first infrared LED. From this technology came the first visible spectrum LED, in red, from Gallium Phosphide (GaP).

Enjoy The Technology Of A VoIP USB Phone

The advent of the Internet made communicating with the rest of the world extremely easy. Instead of having to pay through the nose for a long distance phone call that lasts five minutes, an individual could simply type out an email message and send it to his or her friends inbox in an instant. However, that technology has now gone one step further. You can now make actual voice calls over the Internet using a VOIP USB phone or headset. VOIP stands for Voice Over Internet Protocol and is one of the newer mediums of communication that involves opening a connection and dialling another VOIP user in order to have a conversation. It has revolutionized the way in which we communicate today and has made life easier for many businesses. In terms of being able to make VOIP calls, you only need four pieces of equipment to get starter a computer, VOIP software, the capability to connect to the Internet and a USB headset or phone. The latter is very important if you want to be able to talk to people on the other end! The majority of new computer operating systems have the ability to accept USB connectivity, thus making the USB device the device of choice.

Gps Cell Phone Tracking Technology

New regulations concerning GPS cell phone tracking will make you more secure especially during emergencies. Under new FCC regulations (E911) all new cell phones must have a GPS chip installed during manufacturing. This allows the local 911 dispatcher to access your location during any emergency. This technology has already saved numerous lives. In addition it has help law enforcement agencies to track and arrest criminal suspects. In addition many manufactures have designed their phones to allow the user to use the phone for navigation. However GPS cell phone tracking technology is not without its critics. Many people feel the new GPS cell phone tracking technology is another intrusion into their privacy. FCC regulations generally prohibit anyone from accessing your cell phone information including your GPS tracking information. Even law enforcement agencies are required to have a judicial warrant to access your GPS cell phone tracking data. However, there are several new companies that have begun to provide Private GPS cell phone tracking information on any cell phone user. The legality of these services is a much debated issue. State laws often have in some cases restricted these services. Private investigators, bail bond agents and friend of the court personnel are the most common customers for this service. Obviously there is the possibility of misuse of this information by stalkers and other criminals. Some people have refused to upgrade their phones in order to keep their phone location information private.

Understanding Technology Surplus

Understanding surplus equipment and the companies that buy surplus:In todays secondary grey market you will find resellers, grey marketers and wholesalers basically brokering, playing middleman, selling and buying corporate surplus technology equipment in bulk. Then there are the actual bulk liquidation buyers of large volume surplus computer and network equipment. Surplus computer equipment usually is a manufacturer excess, overstock, and slightly obsolete inventory in huge bulk quantities that is sitting idle losing value as each day goes by. What that means for a buyer of surplus equipment, is of course discounted pricing with every volume purchase! Basically the more you buy the less the cost to you the buyer.
