Ladies Pro Golf Needs You

It’s clear from the fact that ladies professional golf is the fastest developing ladies sport in many countries around the world, that there is an ever growing need for corporate and individual support for the tours.

Yes, ofcourse the corporate money helps and is sorely needed but so too does the background support in terms of media promotion from fans and players themselves. Articles, debates, discussions, advertorials and editorials on ladies professional golf all go some way to help grow one of the most exciting spectacles in sport today. Sure the men’s game is exciting too, but I have attended countless ladies pro events only to hear guys saying “We can relate much better to ladies professional golf than we can the men’s” and ofcourse I would add that they are i) prettier too and ii) far more approachable.

As a golf photo/journalist I could happily walk up to almost any top ladies player, even in the car park and strike up a conversation, as long as I don’t abuse my position. Could I do that with Tiger Woods? No, I wouldn’t get close to his entourage!

So where do you start? How can you help? Well, firstly start joining the forums dedicated solely to ladies professional golf. – MyLPGA.com and LETFansForum.com, join up, (they are free) and then start joining in the debates.

Secondly, get along to some of the very many events that are held throughout the world - you will be really surprised how great these events are to attend. Thirdly, frequent the ladies professional golf portals and start spreading the word in your golf club, at your next society meeting or just with golfing buddies.

Finally, if you are involved in a corporate business and you want additional world-wide exposure (and who in their right mind doesn’t!) then consider sponsoring a player, or sponsoring an event or a part thereof. These lady golf professionals travel the world and their sponsors names get huge coverage for comparatively little cost. Think about it!
