Blackjack is one of the most popular casino card games in world. It is played in casinos around the globe as well as in Internet casinos. It is no surprise that online blackjack has grown in popularity over recent years as blackjack enthusiasts the world over have caught on to the idea that with Internet blackjack they can play blackjack whenever they want, as often as they want, from the comfort of their own homes. However, as many people as there are that love to play the game of blackjack there are just as many who don’t know anything about the rules. If you are interested in playing blackjack online but don’t know the first thing of the game there is no need to worry—the rules of blackjack are very easy to learn.
If you want to learn how to play blackjack then the first thing you need to learn is the objective of the game. In blackjack, players play against the dealer and try to obtain a blackjack hand that is higher than the dealer’s hand without exceeding 21. If a player’s hand exceeds 21 then he or she “busts” and is out of the game.
Blackjack rules state that before any cards are dealt players must place their bets. After bets are placed the dealer deals out two cards to each player, face up on the table. The dealer deals himself two cards as well, but one is face up and one is face down. Players then add up their card total (i.e. a player with a 3 and a 10 has a hand value of 13). Based on this value players decide to hit or stay. Hitting in blackjack means that you are asking the dealer to give you another card to increase the total of your hand. Staying means that you are satisfied with your hand and do not want to take extra cards. Once all players are satisfied with their hands the blackjack dealer flips over his face-down card, totals his own cards and the winners are determined. Players with hands that beat the dealer get paid.
There are several additional rules that are slightly more advanced and make for a strong blackjack strategy. These rules are splitting and doubling. In blackjack you may split your original 2-card hand into two separate hands and play them both in order to increase your chances of winning. This is called splitting. Doubling is a different rule which states that once you receive your cards you may double your bet if you think your chances of winning are high. In blackjack gambling both of these rules can help you to maximize your blackjack winnings. You can also find blackjack tips online to help you to further improve your game strategy.
